The Ministry of Finance has officially set a final Income Tax (PPh) rate of 0.21% on crypto asset transactions, as stipulated in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 50 of 2025 ("PMK 50/2025"). This regulation will come into effect on August 1, 2025.
In line with this new regulation, crypto assets will no longer be subject to Value Added Tax (VAT). This marks a change from previous regulations and confirms that crypto assets are now positioned similarly to securities, as regulated in Article 4A Paragraph (2) Letter d of Law Number 8 of 1983 concerning VAT and Luxury Goods Sales Tax (PPnBM). With this status, crypto transactions are exempt from VAT obligations.
In response to this policy, Tokocrypto will adjust the tax system on our platform by the provisions of PMK 50/2025. These changes include:
Application of a 0.21% Final Income Tax (PPh) rate for buying and selling crypto assets on the Tokocrypto platform.
Abolition of VAT collection previously imposed on crypto transactions.
Updating tax information on transaction pages and User tax reports for better transparency.
Furthermore, regarding the implementation of the new tax rate on crypto assets as regulated in PMK 50/2025, the following Terms and Conditions apply:
Effective August 1, 2025, Tokocrypto will implement a 0.21% final PPh collection for buying and selling crypto assets on the Tokocrypto platform and discontinue the collection of VAT previously imposed on crypto transactions.
Tokocrypto reserves the right to adjust the tax collection mechanism at any time if there are changes or updates to the applicable tax regulations in Indonesia.
