The Passkey feature on Tokocrypto is designed to provide an extra layer of security for your login process. However, some iPhone users may encounter issues during activation, receiving error messages such as:
"The operation couldn't be completed. Unable to verify webcredentials association..."
This problem typically occurs because the device has not yet met the necessary requirements for Passkey usage. Here is a comprehensive guide to resolving this issue.
1. Ensure Your iPhone Meets the Requirements
Before moving on to technical steps, please ensure your device fulfills these criteria:
Operating System: iOS 16 or later.
Apple ID: You must be signed in to your Apple ID.
iCloud Keychain: This feature must be enabled.
Connection: A stable internet connection.
If any of these requirements are not met, the Passkey feature will remain unavailable.
2. Verify Your Apple ID Login
Passkey requires an active Apple ID on your device. How to check:
Open Settings.
Tap your Name/Profile at the top.
If your Apple ID profile appears, proceed to the next step.
If not: Select "Sign in to your iPhone," enter your Apple ID credentials, and follow the verification process.
Once logged in, try reactivating the Passkey in the Tokocrypto app.
3. Enable iCloud Keychain
iCloud Keychain is essential for securely storing your Passkey. Steps to activate:
Open Settings.
Tap your Apple ID Profile.
Select iCloud.
Choose Passwords and Keychain.
Toggle on "Sync this iPhone."
Note: If this option is unavailable, please ensure your iOS is updated to at least version 16.
4. Disable VPN or Proxy
Active VPNs or proxies can interfere with the Passkey verification process. How to disable:
Go to Settings → General.
Select VPN & Device Management.
Ensure the VPN status is "Not Connected."
If using a third-party VPN app, turn it off directly within the app.
Also, check your Wi-Fi settings to ensure any Proxy configuration is set to "Off."
5. Switch Your Network Connection
Certain networks (such as office or public Wi-Fi) may block connections to Apple's verification servers. Try the following:
Switch from Wi-Fi to Mobile Data.
Switch from Mobile Data to Wi-Fi.
Use a Personal Hotspot from another device.
6. Restart iPhone and Reinstall the App
If the steps above do not work, try a fresh start:
Restart your iPhone: For Face ID models, hold the side button and either volume button. For Touch ID models, hold the side button.
Reinstall Tokocrypto: Delete the app, download it again from the App Store, log in, and attempt to activate the Passkey.
Important Note: Ensure you remember your registered email and password before deleting the app.
